Project "Accessibility Plus for Health" financed from European Funds titled: Accessibility Plus for Health in the Provincial Specialized Health Care Complex of Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis in Wolica near Kalisz Ikona - rozwiń

The Voivodship Specialist Healthcare Complex for Lung Diseases and Tuberculosis in Wolica near Kalisz is a grantee of the Accessibility Plus for Health project, which is financed from European Funds. Our facility received a grant of PLN 762,980.37 to improve access to services for people with special needs.

Thanks to this funding, this group of patients will be able to use the new lift, obtain information on the operation of the facility from a WCAG 2.1 compliant website, access the relevant departments and communicate with staff using induction loops or tablets with software dedicated to, among other things, people with verbal communication disorders. The funds raised by the project will allow the purchase of medical equipment that will make it possible to perform a number of examinations on patients with special needs in the rooms without the need to transport them. The equipment to be purchased will contribute to an improvement in treatment conditions and hospital stay, and will allow patients with special needs to overcome barriers and give equal opportunities to access modern diagnostics, which will also have a positive impact on their medical outcomes. A series of training courses planned for hospital staff to make us all aware of the architectural, digital and ICT problems faced by people with special needs will certainly translate into improved quality of service. Developing the interpersonal skills of hospital staff in communicating with people with special needs will help to remove barriers resulting from human and environmental attitudes that prevent people with special needs from participating fully and effectively in society, on an equal basis with others. The project’s cooperation with the PBO (Public Benefit Organization) and the appointment of an accessibility coordinator will also contribute to the achievement of the project’s objective, which will undoubtedly result in a formal and substantive rapprochement between the institutions and in streamlining and increasing the level of coordination of the diagnosis and treatment process for patients with special needs.
